Data deletion

This page explains how to have your CoFiles data deleted, including if you signed in with Google or Facebook. It is public: you do not need to be signed in to read it.

1. You have a CoFiles account (firm or team member)

  1. Open the sign-in page and sign in.
  2. Go to My data (mes-donnees.php). You can first click “Export my data” to download your data (ZIP file).
  3. Under Delete my account, follow the steps: review what will be deleted and kept, confirm with your current password and type the requested word.
  4. A confirmation e-mail is sent to you. During the 30-day grace period, nothing is deleted and you can cancel with the link in the e-mail. After that, erasure is permanent.

The page may first ask you to settle a few things (for example, an active subscription). Export your files before the grace period ends: after permanent erasure, we cannot recover them. If you are a firm, your professional record-retention obligations (under your regulatory body) remain.

Signed up only with Google or Facebook, with no password? Use “Forgot password” to set one with your e-mail, then follow the steps above. You can also write to us (section 3).

2. You are a firm's client

The firm that invited you is responsible for your documents. In My data, you can delete your access (it is suspended today and deleted after the grace period, and you can cancel) or use “Ask the firm to delete my documents”: the firm receives your request and decides what happens next according to its obligations, then answers you in writing. Documents already sent to the firm stay with it.

3. You cannot sign in

Write to us at confidentialite@dossilia.com from the account's e-mail address, with the subject “CoFiles data deletion”. We confirm your identity, then reply in writing within 30 days.

4. What is erased, what is kept

5. Google or Facebook sign-in

Removing CoFiles in your Google or Facebook settings only removes the sign-in authorization on their side; it does not erase the data in your CoFiles account. To delete it, follow the steps in section 1 or 3. The information received from Google or Facebook (name, e-mail, identifier) is part of your account and is erased with it.
